*GATHERING HYMN  "Lord, I Lift Your Name on High”  TFWS #2088

*Call to Worship                                         Based on Psalm 32

Leader:   Blessed are we whose sins are forgiven!

People: Our shortcomings and failures are covered by God's mercy.

Leader:   Blessed are we to be honest and naked before God.

People: We come just as we are, and we are loved unconditionally.

Leader:   When we hide from God, that's when the trouble starts.

People: The guilt and shame become too burdensome to bear alone.

Leader:   Fear and worry weigh us down. We cannot sleep.

People: Confession is good for the soul. As soon as we tell God the truth, the fear lifts.

Leader:   So, pray and confess! Tell God everything.

People: We will share our burdens and concerns, our sorrow and joys. God is eager to hear our prayers.

Leader:   In God we will find refuge, forgiveness and hope.

All:         We sing with joy for God is good and merciful! Blessed are we who walk day by day with the living God!

Praises, Joys and Concerns

Pastoral Prayer and Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,

the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Pastor: The Lord be with you.
People: And also with you.
Pastor: Lift up your hearts.
People: We lift them up to the Lord.
Pastor: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
People: It is right to give our thanks and praise.
Pastor: It is right, and a good and joyful thing…
And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven, we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
People: Holy, holy, holy Lord,
God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

Pastor: Holy are you, and blessed is your Son Jesus Christ…
as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ's offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith.
People: Christ has died;
Christ is risen;
Christ will come again.

Pastor: Pour out your Holy Spirit on us gathered here…
Through your Son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in your holy Church, all honor and glory is yours, almighty God, now and forever. Amen.

Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)

Amazing grace!
how sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear;
and grace my fears relieved.
how precious did that grace appear
the hour I first believed.

Chorus: My chains are gone,
I've been set free.
My God, my Savior, has ransomed me.
And like a flood his mercy reigns,
unending love, amazing grace.

The Lord has promised good to me;
his word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be
as long as life endures

Chorus: (twice)

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow;
the sun forbear to shine.
But God, who called me here below,
will be forever mine,
will be forever mine.
You are forever mine.
