GATHERING HYMN                               “Holy Ground”                   #2272 (2 x)

*Call to Worship

Leader:   Can it be possible that we spend more time choosing what clothes to wear than choosing what we wear on the inside?

Man:       I confess I am quick to criticize instead of looking with compassion on one who is trying to do their best.

Woman: I admit I pass on gossip instead of seeking the truth.

Child:     I sometimes tell a lie instead of being honest.

Man:       I admit I need to work on getting rid of those swear words.

Woman: I need to be satisfied with what I have.

Child:     I need to think good thoughts about other people.

All:         As we enter into this time of worship, let us focus on things that are above, not on things that are on the earth. In that spirit, let us lift our voices in thanksgiving and praise.

*Hymn of Praise               “Morning Has Broken”               #145

There are as many ways to pray as there are people.

There are as many ways to worship as there are people.

All of them are good.

The point is to do it.

In our time together,

let us open our hearts to God as we pray.
Let us open our hearts to God as we worship. Amen.

Praises, Joys and Concerns

Pastoral Prayer and Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,

the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
